1. Myth:  Don’t eat after 6 pm.

Fact: You shouldn’t have a large meal 3 or 4 hours before going to sleep. The reason is that those people who eat just before bedtime are more likely to gain weight simply because a bedtime snack is an extra meal and, therefore, extra calories.

2. Myth: Brown bread is healthier than white bread.

Fact: The calorie content of both brown bread and white bread are the same.

3. Myth: It’s healthy to drink limitless amount of fresh juices.

Fact: The daily intake of fresh juices should be no more than 3 glasses.

4. Myth: High sugar intake leads to diabetes.

Fact: Diabetes is a complex disease and sugar is not the main cause of diabetes. Specialists do believe that too much sugar can increase the risk but there is no direct evidence that sugar can cause diabetes, so to avoid the disease you don’t have to cut sugar off from your diet.

Fact: Negative effects of alcohol can happen to anyone.

8. Myth: You should brush your teeth after every meal.

Fact: The enamel on your teeth is at its softest after eating owing to the acidic environment of the mouth. As such, you should wait an hour after food before brushing.
